Frequently Asked Questions

  • The first instruction of any of our programs is Laser Safety. The hands on laser pointers used by students in science lessons are eye safe.

The lasers we use for our shows are Class IV lasers that require a variance from the FDA to operate. Rocket City Lasers has such a variance.

Our instructors have completed training in laser safety and function as Laser Safety Officers.

  • Our programs range from $35 drop in classes to $450 camps. Our parties and events are custom designed and range from a few hundred dollars and up. Tickets to our entertainment laser shows average around $13 each although we often have special offers.

  • Entertainment shows and parties can be any age, although infants and children under about the age of six can find entertainment shows too bright and loud.

Our clubs, camps and classes are designed for middle schoolers and up.

  • All our programs are run on in-house machines. However, we do have an option for more advanced drop in programs to bring your own laptop as we recognize you may want to work on your productions at home.

  • Many of our students (and instructors) are neurodivergent. We strive to create spaces where students can regulate as they need to without judgment. Please discuss any accommodations and we can advise.

Our classroom is accessible, but students will need to be able to use a computer/keyboard/mouse or have an aide to do that for them.

  • We have found that ten is a good number to insure adequate access to the instructor and facilities.

  • One of the reasons we do entertainment shows is to subsidize the cost of our educational programs. However we are also seeking donations and grants to enable us to eventually set up financial aid programs. We are not a 501c3, however we are investigating working with one to make those contributions tax deductible.

  • As we only have ten spots in each activity, we do not have free sessions. You are welcome to come and watch a class in action, however. Please contact us to schedule that opportunity. We also have a number of taster and drop in sessions that do not require the full semester commitment.

  • Rocket City Lasers has appropriate licenses from BMI and ASCAP and reports on our shows. None of our artists currently are with SESAC or GMA but we regularly check the playlists as artists do move.

  • We license our shows from Audio Visual Imagineering (av-imagineering.com) a 45+ year industry veteran with many awards. We are open to sourcing shows from others. Please reach out if you have a catalog!

  • If you are participating in an adult-only party or class, then we are purple cup friendly!

  • No. The auditorium is under the alcohol license of the Stone Event Center. However, there may be a bar available for some laser show evenings.
